We relied heavily on recommendations from suppliers. They are all professionals in their industry and the local area so they have an excellent network! Who better to take recommendations from than someone who goes to weddings every weekend? Flowers were the centrepiece of our wedding so we started with our florist and went from there. We filled in the gaps with online research targeting style, reliability, and price point. When we found out some were Rock My Wedding Recommended suppliers it added confidence for us.

Our advice would be to get your core suppliers locked in early so that the big-ticket items are ticked off. Create a spreadsheet to track expenditures, including when payments are due.
To make the planning process fun, we did DIY, and tastings to choose the wine and champagne. Leave yourself (and your family) as little to do as possible on the day itself to ensure you can enjoy and take in the big day.
If you can, make a whole weekend or week of it! We had family cottages near our Lapstone Barn wedding. Also, get a live band every time!
