It's important for the day to reflect the both of you and enjoy your celebration. Delegation of tasks is important, but having a shared view is key. The build-up involves lots of decision-making, which can take its toll!

Laura & Nitish

The Old Kent Barn Wedding

The Old Kent Barn was the backdrop for the reception to Laura & Nitish’s Irish Catholic wedding. The first wedding was a traditional Irish Catholic ceremony with military influence. The aim was to embrace the outdoors, which is why a barn venue made sense. Rather than a rustic look, Laura & Nitish chose more sleek decor, with the colour scheme being burgundy and soft touches of light pink. The stunning flowers by Recommended Supplier, Chic Weddings and Events, matched this palette. The team at Old Kent Barn were brilliant. Laura & Nitish were so impressed by the attention to detail and the food was fantastic! More importantly, the wedding planner, is the one and only Recommended Supplier, Ella Parisa, was an absolute star! She heard the vision and did everything possible to make this couple’s dreams come true. Nitish loved the build-up to the moment of actually getting married. Having a wedding is such a grounding experience that made him appreciate the journey the couple have been on.

Mauritian Hindu Wedding at The Langham

For the Mauritian Hindu wedding, Laura & Nitish wanted more classic vibes, so they chose the Langham in London as their second venue. The beautiful large event space meant the couple could accommodate the different customs within a Hindu wedding. The garden area was perfect for the drinks reception. Again, the colour scheme was red and pink for that classic glam look. Laura is a huge fan of music, so for her, having live musicians was a must. The couple found their musicians through Recommended Supplier, Alive Network. Everyone could just soak up the culture and let loose. Besides the music, the couple really made both days feel like them with lots and lots of personal touches and favours. From personalised tissues to personalised glasses, coat hangers and plenty of other bridesmaid and groomsmen gifts. These gestures of thanks were so important to Laura & Nitish to show appreciation to their guests who have turned up to some of the most special days in their lives.

Writing a list of what’s important and creating a mood board really helps, and discussing ideas before making big decisions. Also, take time for yourselves during the day, so much of the detail you plan ends up passing you by. The day does go by so fast!
