"I actually found the venue on Rock my Wedding. Originally, we wanted to get married in New York. However, we decided that we wanted our 2 dogs to be part of our day. As soon as I saw The Priory Barns and Cottages on your website, I booked to go and see it. I thought it was in the perfect place as it was halfway between Sunderland and Huddersfield for our families. It also meant we could have our dogs, Augustus and Maximus, as ring bearers. As soon as we went to view it, we knew we wanted it and booked it on that day. It suited the type of wedding I wanted and the fact that they were so welcoming of dogs was the cherry on the top. We loved that it incorporated a relaxed wedding and had a family feel about it. When we booked, we could have the venue for 3 days prior with our families. We had a pre-wedding BBQ the night before the wedding to allow our families to get to know each other before the big day. " - Sarah & Joseph
Advice
Looking back, we were always given the advice not to stress about the little things as they really don’t matter on the day. As true as that is, I didn’t listen at the time and wish I did. Our advice would be to make sure you have some time alone as the bride and groom throughout the day to take it in. We had lots of little moments and it only made the day more special.
