We chose our suppliers largely through recommendation and referral. We found our cake at a wedding exhibition, our photographer went to school with the groom, and the venue recommended our videographer!
Lauren & Alex
Lauren & Alex's wedding day was the perfect mix of traditional and relaxed summer vibes. They aspired to have a mash-up of their British and Australian heritages, which involved keeping things less formal (like the speeches) and ensuring that they had as much time outside as possible (so having the pre-meal drinks on the lawn). They also organised all the small touches, like integrating Australian eucalyptus and wildflower arrangements into the table decor. Elmore Court proved to be the perfect venue since they could keep things luxe but add a flare of relaxed fun as the party could spill into the wild garden and congregate around the fire pit.
Nearly 50% of the bridal party live abroad, so gathering them all for one day was so special. One of the bridesmaids designed all the signage and stationery and a bridesman made candles with a signature wedding scent. Also, Albie the sausage dog walked down the aisle in a mini tuxedo. Lauren & Alex also treated their wedding guests to a midnight snack from McDonald's that they were McLoving (haha)! The florist surprised Lauren with authentic eucalyptus from Australia to go alongside the wildflower arrangements. Alex drove Lauren to the reception, in the E-type Jaguar and enjoyed a few minutes alone to take it all in, which was a fave moment.
Walking into the Gillyflower to all our cheering friends and family that had travelled across the world was magical. Seeing all the hard work and planning (mainly of Lauren) with all the small details we wanted, from the incredible wildflower arrangements, the table design, and the awesome cake, was awesome. It's hard to put into words how special it was to see everyone together!
