Inspiration

We don't know where to start with this wedding, from the 3D flower wedding dress to the amazing views at the Florence venue, everything is so so gorgeous! This couple had two ceremonies, the first a private Italian civil ceremony held in a chapel designed by Michaelangelo (no biggie!) and the other a stunning Persian/Baha'i ceremony with their guests, looking over amazing views with the sun slowly setting - you can't get more romantic! With their joint love of films and as the groom is a film maker, this was the obvious theme of the day with the groom actually making 3 short films that were screened at the wedding itself under a canopy of fairy lights on the lawns of the venue with the views providing an amazing backdrop - what an incredible experience!

What Made Our Day Unique

Given our cultural backgrounds and the historic richness of the location, we were sure that our event would remain true to us as individuals and as a couple. Unforgettable moments during the event included the private Italian Civil Ceremony held in the original Chapel designed by Michaelangelo; the classic interior was accented with art from the contemporary Florentine street artist, Blub. The Persian/Baha'i Ceremony followed that evening with the sun setting over Florence in the background. Like us, both of these ceremonies combined our own style of modern and traditional.

3D Flower Wedding Dress

The bride wanted a dress that was fashion-forward and unique and she definitely did just that with this 3D flower wedding dress from Viktor & Rolf Mariage. Although it was a close call as the dress only arrived the day before she left for Italy, but we are so glad it made the plane as it looks incredible, especially paired with gold Aquazzura heels!

Inspiration & Styling

We wanted a formal wedding, but we also wanted the vibe to feel authentic and relaxed - not stuffy. We both have a love of film and Pablo is a filmmaker, so classic cinema was a prevalent theme throughout the day. We wanted an atmosphere that fit naturally in the surroundings of the Tuscan hills and the beautiful structure of the Belmond Villa San Michele which was once an old monastery, including a façade designed by Michelangelo and an original Roman road that runs through the property. It was a very special atmosphere that was quintessentially Italian. Every part of the event used a different space on the property. We chose a very clean and simple colour scheme - black, white, and gray, incorporated throughout everything from the invitations, décor, and flowers.
