Inspiration

Sarah & Kevin had a September wedding at Coombe Lodge in Bristol that perfectly captures that transition period between summer and autumn. The couple included seasonal wedding flowers, a deep blue groom suit, and a boho lace wedding dress to encapsulate the season. Valuing sustainability, this couple had pre-loved wedding decor, a vegan wedding menu, and used local suppliers. It was a beautiful, vibrant and colourful wedding with the perfect weather, so the couple were able to have a dreamy outdoor ceremony. Recommended Supplier, Flowers Evolution, created that masterpiece of a bouquet and all other flower arrangements from this day.

Coombe Lodge wedding under 10k with a vegan wedding menu and sustainable wedding practices

We tried our best to pick suppliers with eco-friendly practices. In particular, our flowers were seasonal, and locally grown with no plastic or artificial foam by our talented florist, Flowers Evolution, who came from just 5 miles away from our venue!

Coombe Lodge

Sarah & Kevin had an intimate wedding with 45 of their closest friends and family. The couple were lucky to have great weather and were able to have their ceremony outdoors. Sarah & Kevin are vegan and it was important to them that their wedding day reflected that. Coombe Lodge provided a fully vegan menu that everyone loved! Flowers Evolution was definitely a standout supplier for Sarah & Kevin. They didn't have any specific flower arrangements in mind and only knew they wanted to use eco-friendly flowers and materials. Flowers Evolution pulled off something amazing! So amazing that Sarah couldn't part with her gorgeous bouquet and had it pressed. It now sits in a frame in her home office!

Sustainable Wedding Decor

It may sound obvious, but make your wedding budget early on and keep track of all your purchases. Places, like Recycle My Wedding (our pre-loved buy-and-sell sister platform), Facebook Marketplace, and other secondhand sites, are great places to pick up your wedding decorations. Sarah had bought 10 clear umbrellas from another bride, still with tags on as she hadn't needed them. She was able to sell them on herself, also still unused, to another bride after their wedding too. Hopefully, the umbrellas continue to be unused, bringing luck as they are passed from bride to bride! Sarah walked down the aisle outdoors at Coombe Lodge to the main theme song from the film, The Princess Bride, a family favourite (and ours too!).

Eco-conscious decisions don't have to be life-changing. It all starts with a pre-loved purchase or a vegan dish

Our favourite part of the day was walking our borrowmydoggy.com friend across the venue grounds after dinner, just the two (three!) of us away from the noise.
