Inspiration

This classically stunning Coombe Trenchard wedding is the epitome of traditional countryside weddings! Claire & Chris are both architects with a flair for design. The couple wasn’t afraid to make their day unique by creating all of their stationery and signage themselves! Their table names were named after all the places in India they planned to visit on their honeymoon. The couple used Rock My Wedding's supplier directory to find their wedding favours by Recommended supplier, Perkier Naturally. Recommended supplier, McGivern Photography captured all the details of this gorgeous day! Also, Claire & Chris chose Recommended supplier, The Wedding Present Company, for their gift list!

A classic and traditional Coombe Trenchard wedding with a Chinese Tea Ceremony

We wanted the wedding elements to express our personalities, which resulted in suppliers with the same approach and ethos. Our beautiful soap favours were by Perkier Naturally who we found through Rock My Wedding.

Coombe Trenchard

Claire & Chris married at Coombe Trenchard, on the fringes of Dartmoor just a short distance from where Chris proposed. Aww! The venue is an Arts and Crafts house that the couple instantly fell in love with due to the personal approach and sequence of landscaped gardens and rooms that narrated our day. All details of the day were put together with a personal touch. The table flowers were mostly grown in the cutting garden at the venue, to hand drawn stationery by the couple, hemstitch sage napkins, a Chinese Tea Ceremony with Yam Seng toasts to reflect the bride's heritage along with local suppliers, growers, produce and designers.

Classic & Traditional

Coombe Trenchard is the ideal location for a late-summer countryside wedding, with the formal Arts and Crafts backdrop that contrasted the modern styling. It was important to Claire & Chris to have a balance of classic and contemporary styling in their day to allow their personalities to come through. This was also true with the colour palette, bespoke hand-drawn stationery and including their favourite food and wine on the menu. For outfits, the bridal party wore mismatched bridesmaid dresses with the bride in an Andrea Hawkes wedding dress and lace veil. The groom and groomsmen wore traditional morning suits for the day with colourful buttonholes!

Adding personal touches through your table names or table plan is an easy conversation starter for guests!

Weather is the one thing you cannot plan, but bad weather never ruins a good wedding and our photographer certainly captured that! We had planned to have a couple of things outdoors in the beautiful gardens, but just our luck, this didn't go 'to plan'. However, Coombe Trenchard was amazing at running through a Plan B with us once we knew the forecast. Everything was so seamless it didn't feel like a Plan B and, if anything, it brought everyone closer together!
