Inspiration

Lights, camera… disco ball decoration! This contemporary and modern inspiration is giving us glitz, glam, and all that modern styling we love. Not only that, the location just so happens to be a working farm… you know we love a bit of sustainability! We love the short-styled wedding gown and bridal jumpsuit, alongside the neon sign and candlelit tablescape. Anyway, we won’t keep you… let’s hand it over to Recommended Supplier, Clare Smith Photography

Disco ball decoration at Willow Grange Farm

In the heart of Cambridgeshire within the beautiful farmlands is the home of The Willow Grange Farm. This venue is not just a stunning location for a wedding but is a working arable farm producing wheat, potatoes sugar beet and various other crops.

INSPIRATION & STYLING

We wanted to focus on how to enhance the ceremony set up and the ‘Happily Ever After’ neon sign was the perfect match. We complemented this by adding two floral designs, one on the top left corner spreading across and the other on the opposite corner, adding various eye-catching elements. By using a mix of cylinder pillar candles, taper candles and glass vases it drew attention down to the beautiful Vera Wang dress without being distracting. We wanted to mix and match and showcase the playful style, so it does not feel uniform.

BRIDAL LOOK

The Bride wore the show-stopping ‘Lilian’ dress designed by Vera Wang. ‘Lilian’ is a tulip Chantilly lace mermaid gown with a hand-pieced circular flange train and a mum garden hemline. The dress bought style, elegance and a modern twist to the shoot. The vision was created around this dress and by creating floor-based focuses it drew attention to the lower dress design. The makeup look was altered slightly to enhance the style of the bridal looks but remained natural and flawless. Rebecca Owen Hair created elegant, slick styles that really matched the outfit the bride was wearing.

We love the deep bouquet colours alongside the rustic and neutral farm background

We wanted the flowers to ooze romance with a modern edge. Sarah used a colour palette of blush, bieges and deep burgundy with caramel Carnations, Astrantia, waxflower, chocolate Lisianthus and reflexed Menta Roses.

Disco ball decoration? Yep, we’re digging it. Perhaps it’s the 70s vibe, or the fact it makes us want to dance all night, either way, it’s working for us. We also love a short wedding dress or bridal jumpsuit, the perfect addition if you’re not really feeling a full-length gown… or at least fancy a change in order to shimmy the night away!
