Inspiration

'To know Vimbai and Lea is to know love.' A fitting statement from Vimbai's sister's speech that perfectly describes their romantic wedding at Recommended venue Elmore Court. Not only was there a serendipitous double rainbow appear during the couples' portraits, but they beautifully represented their Italian and Zimbabwean cultures during their celebration. Every capture is full of love and happiness, and, every capture just makes us love this incredible couple and venue more and more.

We honestly can’t say what made our day unique. But, we know everyone had a lovely time and kept remarking on the ceremony. Very early on there were a few things we knew we wanted to do a certain way: writing our own vows, walking down the aisle together, having friends and family involved in some way, either doing the readings, making the cake, or even doing our makeup (at least in Vimbai’s case!). We wanted it to be, a comfortable, warm, and loving day with good food, good wine, and happiness.

Elmore Court

Vimbai and I found Elmore Court on Instagram. Once we knew we wanted to get married near the Cotswolds, we then used Instagram to look at other weddings that had taken place there to find local suppliers that matched the look we were going for. Cross-checking our list with the Elmore Court recommended supplier or Rock My Wedding!

Styling

Vimbai and I knew we wanted a cosy and warm wedding since we were getting married in autumn. We also wanted our decor to blend in with Elmore Court and not overshadow what is such a beautiful venue. Our conversation with our florist really helped us with our styling. Amber was so helpful in turning our random ideas of candles, flowers and greenery and texture into a mood board with colours and swatches.

Vimbai and Lea didn't have a traditional bridal party, but that didn't stop them getting ready with their nearest and dearest.

Don’t sweat the small stuff. While it might tempting to spend huge amounts of time and money on small touches, you and your guests will remember the atmosphere and how comfortable you were. No one is going to have a good time if they are hungry or cold! Also, try and get your friends and family involved. More often than not they are just waiting to be asked! We had a friend bake our cake and another design our invitations, which felt so special.

Vimbai & Lea

Lea is a warrior woman being a paralympic athlete in rock climbing and looks incredible in an Ana Kara wedding dress. As does Vimbai who wears an Essense of Australia bridal gown. They start their Elmore Court wedding walking down the aisle together, and culminate their day side by side surrounded by sparklers. It sounds picture-perfect, and it really is.
