Yes! We have a licence for civil ceremonies on site. We do not charge anything extra for an onsite ceremony. There are also lots of churches locally to us if you would prefer a church wedding. We can help advise on these should you need.

You can have up to 140 guests during the day for your ceremony and the wedding breakfast, and you can invite a further 60 in the evening.

We have accommodation on site for 11 guests. Our Farmhouse sleeps 9 guests (4 doubles and a single), and our Laundry Cottage sleeps two, which is ideal for the newly weds. There is lots of accommodation local to Thirsk Lodge Barns including a Premier Inn, some high-end hotels or pubs with rooms, camping and glamping options and lots on Air BnB.

This stunning exclusive use wedding venue is made up of several barns including: The Main Barn - A majestic old, red brick barn used for on-site ceremonies, before transforming into the dance floor for the evening reception. It overlooks fields of grass and wildflowers and it has a mezzanine which is perfect for readers/singers during your ceremony, to capture a group photo with all your guests from, or even for your DJ to play from in the evening. A wall of fairy lights behind the ceremony table is the perfect backdrop for those all-important photos! The Bar - this stunning room opens out into our large Courtyard. With exposed beams and pillars, and a modern copper topped bar – the space still captures the old features of the Barns, but with a more modern twist! The Courtyard – housing one of the UK’s largest olive trees, this is the perfect place for photos, drinks or a breath of fresh air. We will offer large outdoor games and fire pits (bring sparklers and marshmallows!), and there is an open stable area with heaters for some outdoor seating. We also have the option of setting up a pop-up bar out here too! The Dining Room – with open trusses, a large skylight and a beautiful oak floor, our stunning Dining Room suits either round tables or long trestle tables – both of which we have. There is a separate bar in here and views overlooking the fields. The Wheelhouse – this is a snug room for kids to watch TV or for your guests to pop their feet up. Set just off the Main Barn, it’s a great escape for those guests that want a breather from the dancing!

Yes! If you choose our two-day hire option, you are welcome to come in the day before to set up ahead of your big day, and have a rehearsal.
