Emma and Erik knew they wanted to infuse their Italian wedding with nature. So, they hosted an outdoor ceremony decorated in pampas grass and Billy buttons. Emma also wore a stunning white wedding dress with flowers detail and they made sure they used local wedding suppliers where possible to keep things as sustainable as possible. We wanted a destination wedding amongst nature. As a mixed couple, it was important for us to make our guests feel relaxed during the whole day, especially since most had never met one another.
DESTINATION WEDDING
Organising a wedding from afar is a big challenge. So, we looked for suppliers that wouldn't mind going the extra mile to keep in contact with us. We didn't envision a classic Italian wedding, but one with a more modern and fresh vibe. Naturally, we gravitated towards suppliers whose style and approach matched our ideas. Some of them we already knew and followed, others we met in person at least once before the event. Instagram and mood boards helped a lot when scouting for suppliers and defining our style.
BOHO
Our event had a boho, slightly rustic yet elegant vibe to it. The whole day was spent outdoors on the premises of an ancient monastery converted into a wine production facility. We knew from the beginning we didn't want a big party, but rather an intimate symbolic ceremony with family and closest friends. It synthesised pretty well who we are as a couple and what it is important to us: sustainability, support of small local businesses and love for food and good wine!
Emma and Erik chose a mixture of contemporary classics and movie soundtracks including Star Wars for their wedding music.
A few well-chosen and passionate professionals will help you coordinate your day. The ultimate goal of your wedding should be to have fun. Anything else just eats up precious time.
