Inspiration

Get your sunnies out because it's a sparkly one! This bride wears a Zavana Couture wedding dress for her big day. After four postponements, this couple made sure they went all out. Those sequin bridesmaid dresses are hard to miss too! Emily and Ben had a sustainable wedding, with zero plastic and eco-friendly products throughout. Grace Elizabeth, one of our Recommended photographers, captured all the special and intimate family touches from Ben's dad hosting the ceremony to couple portraits with the family dog!

I followed a multitude of wedding websites including Rock My Wedding for more environmentally friendly options. I also found a great page through my venue where brides and grooms could swap supplier recommendations locally where I learned some amazing tips! We mainly wanted to prioritise budget and sustainability.

Eco-friendly Wedding

Emily and Ben had their wedding in North Devon, which is an important place to them. They centred their day around family values, environmental impact and sustainability. Using their favourite local retailers and suppliers. It was a fun plastic-free day! The couple even gave a donation to charity 'Plastic-free North Devon' as a favour to the planet instead of giving out traditional single-use wedding favours. Check out the boho macrame too!

Zavana Couture Wedding Dress

Emily wore a stunning sparkly Zavana Couture wedding dress. It's certainly giving us all the angelic vibes. But the sparkles didn't stop there. Emily's bridesmaids all wore sequinned dresses too! With neutral tones, pampas grass, hand-collected sea shells and fairy lights galore, this wedding was providing all the romantic feels.  Plus the pampas grass was courtesy of Emily's dad and his gardening club (awwwh!). Emily collected the shells herself too!

Family Moments

This day was made even more special by how involved Emily and Ben's family was. Ben's dad hosted the ceremony and even wore his RAF uniform (how moving!). The couple got portraits with their pet dog and their two daughters were their ring bearers. We could keep going, but we're tearing up right now. A fun and unique moment of their day was cutting the wedding cake with a chainsaw! Ben is a tree surgeon, so this was a cute little nod to his job.

Be more sustainable and have a zero plastic wedding!

It will all work out and be okay on the day. I heard this so many times and never believed it. I organised everything myself and I am terrible at letting other people help, but I wish I had! We found it stressful carrying the load, so on reflection, if people offer to help, let them!
