Inspiration

Gemma looked radiant in her Alexandra Grecco Lana wedding dress from Recommended supplier, Lovely Bride and embroidered veil from Recommended supplier, Rebecca Anne Designs. She stood out in every photo! Gemma & Rich's day was fun and relaxed at Recommended venue, Old Gore Barn. Their priorities were the food and drink and the party. Starting the party off with a game of prosecco pong and a nice serving of ice cream is definitely the way to go! Opting for a green colour scheme, the couple got their green bridesmaid dresses from Recommended supplier, Rewritten Bridesmaids. Also, Recommended supplier, Carrie Lavers Photography captured the beautiful day.

We used Rock My Wedding and Instagram for inspiration - Rock My Wedding is such an amazing tool that we recommend for all engaged friends. We looked at the list of suppliers against featured weddings with a vibe and aesthetic similar to what we were after.

The weather on Gemma & Rich's day was forecast for thunderstorms. Luckily, it didn't thunderstorm until midnight but there was some wind and rain, so while there are no sunny golden hour portraits, this is proof that weddings can still be beautiful in the great British weather! Recommended supplier, Carrie Lavers Photography, is the perfect choice for those atmospheric shots too! Gemma certainly stands out in her wedding pictures wearing a gorgeous Alexandra Grecco Lana wedding dress. The couple went for a green colour palette, inspired by Gemma's emerald engagement ring, with green bridesmaid dresses and stationery.

Unique Wedding Ideas

This special day was full of incredible unique touches. One of the bridesmaids designed all the invitations, drink tokens, place cards and the welcome sign. They had an adult flower girl (Gemma's sister) and ice cream delivered through street-food-style windows at the Old Gore Barn. Almost all the main meal was out cooking on a firepit in front of the guests, so it all felt fresh and yummy! Plus, there was an iconic prosecco tower and a game of prosecco pong with the bridal party. Where was our invite?! Gemma won the game with the final ball and then the couple went straight into their first dance with a DJ and saxophone player from Recommended supplier, Wedding Jam

Prosecco pong?! That sounds like our kind of party

We set aside time on a weekly basis, over a glass of wine so planning was fun & not a chore! Instagram and Rock My Wedding are powerful tools to get inspiration, look up what other couples did at your venue and find suppliers. We got engaged in October 2021 so we had to plan fairly quickly. Especially as most suppliers were booked up from covid. I made an epic spreadsheet with our budget, a timeline, to-do lists and a must-pack list.
