From the Recommended Supplier, Rewritten Bridesmaids dresses, to the incredible wedding cake, to the Lord Of The Rings decor theme, we are just OBSESSED. Chris & Lucie truly poured their heart and soul into their wedding day to ensure it was unique to who they are as a couple. Of course, it helps that Lucie is a talented illustrator, meaning she was able to create lots of bespoke pieces! You know we can’t resist a little Do It Yourself action…

We got engaged in Hobbiton in New Zealand. So we wanted to carry on the magical Middle Earth theme throughout the wedding. But in a subtle way so only fans of Lord Of The Rings would really notice. Although we allowed a bit of in-your-face into the cake design, it had to be done!

Chris & Lucie’s choice of venue really narrowed down their search for suppliers. As they live in Leicestershire, travelling up to Northumberland felt almost like a destination wedding! They chose suppliers from Yorkshire and Northumberland, as they were keen to support the local area but also for ease. Asking your venue if they have a recommended suppliers list is also a great way to find people who have worked at a venue before. This ensures they know all the ins and outs!
FAVOURITE MOMENT
As a surprise, Chris asked the Ceilidh band, Dancing Feet, to play ‘Concerning Hobbits’ after the newlyweds had walked back down the aisle. Lucie felt this was an incredibly special moment as it truly bought their journey from getting engaged at Hobbiton full circle. It left Lucy with goosebumps and a lump in her throat! Hey, is someone cutting onions in here or something…
You know we love a flower crown!
We used our own VWT2 camper van, Neville, as our wedding car. We completely refurbished the van back in 2017 and really wanted him to be a part of our big day. He had a spruce up before our wedding and looked beautiful finished with a handmade dried flower garland.
