There are venues that have it all, and then there are venues like Anran, Devon. We're talking getting married in a hut lit by a whole ceiling of chandeliers, enjoying a sun-drenched reception in the courtyard, and then dancing the night away in a stunning glasshouse. If you can't quite picture it, then don't worry! Summer wedding at Anran Devon with chandeliers, glasshouse and Made With Love wedding dress.
Our day was a reflection of us to a tee. We both have a passion for the natural world and our venue just aligned with this style so perfectly - it was the ideal combination of earthy, chic and modern with a laid back vibe. All stationery, signs and little touches were handmade by me, including our movie quote escort cards! Everything was just so us!
FOOD
As people who don't eat meat, Liam and I wanted to make sure the wedding at Anran Devon was a reflection of us. We requested an Indian paneer curry teamed with flavoursome rice, potatoes and flatbreads. Cru Events didn't disappoint and created a stunning, colourful and delicious sharing feast for our guests to devour! In the evening, we opted for a quirky pizza van and it was a HUGE hit. They were quite possibly the best pizzas we have ever had and it was made all the more special as it linked closely to our engagement! The Sunset Pizza van is based in Perranporth, where Liam proposed to me in the sand dunes over a pizza and a cold beer. Perfection.
ANRAN DEVON
We did a lot of research throughout planning and searched through Rock My Wedding many times! We knew we wanted a venue in Devon or Cornwall and Anran felt like it was perfect as soon as we saw it. It's just so unique and staying with guests for a few days turned our wedding into a much needed holiday after the Covid lockdowns. Having a small group with us at the venue for a few days before the wedding was game changing - not only were they all extremely helpful and let me boss them around, but we had so much fun and everyone bonded!
WEDDING STYLE
My dress was Georgie from Made With Love. As soon as I tried it on, I just felt confident! The dress itself is so simple yet classic, completely fuss free, but still features a 'wow factor' open back detail. In the evening, I changed into Opal from Grace Loves Lace. The pearlescent satin material gave me such an Oscars vibe, it really oozed party time and was loose enough for me to dance the night away! The men wore sage green suits from Moss Bros along with some bespoke waistcoats. They looked fantastic and suited the whole venue, Anran Devon, perfectly (no pun intended!).
Having your ceremony, reception and evening party all in one venue is a great way to make sure your wedding flows seamlessly!
Any advice for couples planning their wedding? I know this advice gets mentioned a lot, but it is so important. Remember, the day should be what YOU want it to be. Lots of people will have different opinions and may not agree with what you choose, but your wedding should be a reflection of who you are as a couple!
