What Made Our Day Unique

Our wedding took place in St Margaret's Church in Topsham which is where my parents were married over 35 years ago. A dream of mine from when I was a young girl was to have my wedding reception in my parent's garden as it was full of so many happy childhood memories, and so after the service finished, our guests walked 800 meters up the road to enjoy an evening of fun in a traditional marquee erected in a field overlooking the rolling hills of Devon. Our drive from the church to the wedding reception was very special. We were picked up in an Austin 7 from the 1930s by a local doctor, who didn't want a penny but asked that we make a donation to Hospiscare Charity - this charity is very close to our hearts as Justin's dad passed away the previous year and this charity had been a huge support.

Inspiration & Styling

We wanted a relaxed traditional wedding with a rustic Devon vibe. We are both big on plants and flowers and wanted to dress up our marquee with beautiful foliage/flower garlands and installations. The colour scheme was dusky pink, sage green and white. It was important to both of us that our day was chilled out and filled with as much laughter and love as possible - We knew this part would definitely be achievable as our guest list was made up of all our favourite people!
