This Autism marriage inclusive wedding inspiration took place at the historical and extremely stylish Thicket Priory in the North Yorkshire countryside. The venue was chosen because of its elegant dramatic feel, with unique style, beautiful grounds, a lake and a bandstand! Plus everyone who works there is lovely.
Host-educator of UK Black Pride, Char, is an autistic Jamindian. Encouraged by a matchmaking friend, Char and her partner, Grace met in London for the Moon Exhibition, but, due to it being busy, went for lunch instead, talking for hours. Warming to their authenticity and love story on their Instagrams, we approached them with our vision.
As a mum to a child with Down’s syndrome and autism, I’m saddened by how rarely my daughter sees people that look like her in the media. As content creators it’s our responsibility to be part of that change.
