Inspiration

Grab your roller-skates, and glide into Chelsey & Harry's funky 70's inspired stylish wedding, with a backdrop banner and disco balls to match! This incredible day has been given the Rock My Wedding Triple F: Fun, festive, and funky! Chelsey & Harry's visions of vibrant colours, disco balls, and 70s vibes intertwined perfectly with their wish of integrating their love for rock music. Speaking of rock and roll... Can we talk about Chelsey's handmade leather jacket, painted especially by Harry? Incredible. Tying up the aesthetic perfectly was the amazing modern-meets-vintage guest book. From Recommended supplier Audio Guest Book the couple had a vintage-style telephone, allowing guests to record voice messages. These are compiled into an audio guest book for you to listen back on your big day forever. It's a shame Christmas has come and gone, I'd have loved one of those...

Funky festive wedding with 70s vibes, rock and roll, disco balls and an incredible backdrop banner

We both love rock music and culture and really wanted to integrate this into our day. So, we walked back down the aisle to a string version of First Date by Blink-182 and ended the night by singing Tribute by Tenacious D on the band's microphones! We picked traditional elements and paired them with unconventional ideas that represented us as people.

Chelsey & Harry

Backdrop banner & decor

Decor always plays a big part in weddings. Chelsey & Harry heard this loud and clear - it's safe to say their decor was out of this world groovy. The felt backdrop banner with "I was made for lovin' you baby" in 70's-inspired font also cleverly gives a nod to their love of rock music. The couple wanted their theme to be fun and inviting, and that it was. The use of disco balls, streamers and old telephone-style guest books tied it all together perfectly. Chelsey & Harry claimed they wanted to go for an untraditional wedding in terms of colour. Their splashes of reds, oranges and browns certainly did the trick.

Rock and roll through and through

Chelsey & Harry wanted to integrate their love of rock culture as much as possible. They did this expertly - with music! The couple had their ceremony songs played by a string quartet. Songbird by Fleetwood Mac, I Was Made For Lovin' You by Kiss, I Believe In A Thing Called Love by The Darkness, and First Date by Blink-182. Not to mention their first dance song was Everlasting Light by The Black Keys. That's quite the playlist, hey! Chelsea's rocking leather jacket was also hand painted by Harry. Maybe Electric Light Orchestra were talking about him when they wrote: "Rock And Roll Is King"?

We love the amalgamation of 70's vibes, rock music, disco balls and a backdrop banner

We used Instagram to locate most of our suppliers. More specifically our florist was featured on Rock My Wedding and this was the inspiration behind my bridal bouquet. We also found Tanya from Daydreamer Creative Studio through a feature on Rock My Wedding too which was an absolute dream!!
