Inspiration

This boho chic gown from E&W Couture isn’t the only thing you need to see from this glorious wedding. Perfectly planned by Recommended Supplier, The Wedding Dolls, this day gives fairytale, ethereal, wonderland type vibes… yeah, you heard us. The Dreys is an incredible venue, and if you’re looking for the ‘wow factor’, you’ve found it right here. Victoria & Josh broke a few wedding traditions; from the ‘wedding team’, who wore their own outfits, to the bride walking down the aisle with both parents. But hey, as we always say, it’s Your Day, Your Way. And quite frankly, when it looks this good, who the hell is even thinking about those classic traditions!? Especially when food from Recommended Supplier, Touchays, is in front of you… Get those Pinning fingers at the ready, you’ll need them…

E&W Couture gown for fairytale wedding

As soon as we got engaged, I jumped on Instagram and Pinterest and was reading multiple wedding blogs and magazines. After seeing The Dreys on a number of blogs (Dani & Jason on Rock My Wedding was major inspiration), we knew it was the venue for us.

VIBE

We wanted our wedding to be a reflection of who we are - fun, outdoorsy, focused on family and friends. We had lawn and board games, plus a glitter bar to keep our guests entertained, as well as a few surprises - like inviting guests to join our first dance at the chorus of You Should Be Dancing by The Bee Gees! The Dreys is already styled beautifully, so we focused on adding a few personal touches. Family pitched in - the stationery was designed by the bride’s sister and Pick ‘N’ Mix was provided by the groom’s aunt.

ADVICE

Everyone says this (and it is tough in practice) but try not to let the opinions of others influence your day. Everyone will have an opinion, but like Rock My Wedding says: Your Day, Your Way! In terms of advice for the day itself, try and carve out time for the two of you together. We decided on a sweetheart table during our wedding breakfast and we loved it because we got to spend time together taking it all in. It also meant we didn't have to make the difficult decision of who to sit with. Also, brides - do a speech!

We love the muted tones throughout this wedding, working perfectly against the spectacular backdrop!

We printed off photos of ourselves with our guests for the wedding breakfast tables, which brought back happy memories for many of our guests and some of them even took them home. Our Polaroid guest book worked really well too. Our guests are still raving about the incredible grazing table that we had in place of canapés and starters - my cousin was even inspired to recreate her own a few weeks after!
