Inspiration

You know we love anything sparkly, so when we saw Serena's beaded sparkle wedding dress and mismatched sparkly bridesmaid dresses we just had to share this cosy and rustic day! Serena & Alastair married at Recommended venue, Cripps Barn. On hand to capture this stunning day, despite all the wind and rain, was Recommended supplier, Carrie Lavers Photography! The couple also chose Recommended supplier, The Wedding Shop, for their gift list.

We had a child-free wedding to give our friends the chance to have an evening off but we did ask my niece, Summer, to be a flower girl and Alastair's nephew, Arthur, to be a mini groomsman. They absolutely stole the show walking down the aisle together and holding hands, it was so cute!

Until recently, Serena & Alastair lived in Bermondsey in London so they named the tables after their fave Bermondsey pubs. It was a lucky coincidence that Serena found her beautiful beaded sparkle wedding dress at Recommended supplier's Made with Love bridal boutique in Bermondsey too! To complete the bridal look Recommended supplier, Gavin Harvie Hair was on hand! Serena paired the dress with sparkly shoes also from Recommended supplier, Rainbow Club! If you're loving the sparkles, our sparkly wedding inspo is perfect for you!

Cosy Barn Venue

Serena & Alastair wanted a cosy, relaxed and autumnal feel to their day which was easy to achieve at Cripps Barn as they had lots of beautiful candles and a huge fireplace with a real fire. It actually rained all day but this added to the cosiness. Because of the rustic nature of the venue, it works for any weather situation! Despite the rain, the couple wanted everyone to feel good and dress up with a cocktail party theme. The groomsmen wore black tie and the bridesmaids were in mismatched sparkly dresses!

Rustic wedding? Industrial wedding? Boho wedding? A beaded sparkle wedding dress will work for them all!

Go with your gut! We spent hours looking for different suppliers and often came back to one of the first images we had pinned on Pinterest. We used Rock My Wedding for inspiration and then did a lot of internet research and scrolling through Instagram! Also, go with the flow, even if things don't go as planned. We had planned for a bonfire and firepits outside with toasted marshmallows but in the end, it poured with rain all day so we couldn't go outside. We didn't let it dampen our spirits though!
