Just The Way You Are.

On 4th September 2011, Natasha and David married at Soughton Hall in North Wales.

Their day had elements of English garden (or Welsh in this case) with opulent touches, the black bows, the stripped back colour scheme, the candelabras dripping with pearls… oh and did I mention shoes by Christian Dior?

Photography today is by those Welsh wonders Charis and Owen at O&C photography.

A Bow At The Back

I bought my dress at Dreamcatchers, Kirkham (A brilliant and very helpful shop!). The dress make was Enzoani. Loved the lace and the sweetheart cut and then I added the sash to finish the dress off as I love accessories – especially belts. The bow at the back finished the dress off perfectly.

Dark Pearl

My parents bought me a lovely dark pearl set to go with the off white and black theme. It is an Indian tradition for the girls parents to buy their daughter jewellery. My parents are the best and we were so lucky to have this day because of their generosity.

Bags And Bows

As I am only very small I needed high heels!, my sister Rishma bought me Christian Dior shoes and they were black to go with the theme.

The detailing of the shoes were quilted and with a big bow at the front. I was also very lucky because my other sister Zera bought me a Chloe Handbag with a bow at the front – both brill for many occasions!

All The Way To Wales

My Make-up was by MAC Cosmetics (the best choice) and my make-up artist was Francesca Britton. I found her becasue she did my Bridesmaid Anne-maries friends wedding.

My hair was by Saks Lytham – they travelled all the way to Wales and were fab.

Luscious Roses

My sister Zera is very creative and decorated the ceremony room and the areas in the actual hall which were amazing, she went for whites and created a “love” theme. We had a big D&N made which was at the front of the hall.

Ava Event styling styled the Marquee and it was beautiful, following the Chanel theme perfectly with Luscious roses – Nude and off white, black bows and pearls. There were different table displays – Hurricane lamps and candelabras.

Simple Colour Scheme

We bought the five bridemaids dresses from House of Fraser and we had four Groomsmen. All the outfits fitted in with the simple colour scheme.

Slim Fitting

David just looked so lovely, smart and proud. His suit was Kenneth Cole from House of Fraser and was slim fitting which he wore with a tie.

We Loved The Style

We chose the very talented O&C photography. I thought it was great that there were two of them and we loved the style of their photography.

Chic And Classic

My mums very close friends Marie and John Thompson made our cake for us. They are the owners of Bennetts Bakery in Ansdell.

The main cake was fruit cake and they made a seperate one with sponge as David doesn’t actually like fruit cake!.

The cake was perfect with black bows and a roses. it was very chic and classic.

Eclectic Music

At the champagne reception we had a steel band (my dads idea!), then we had an 80’s band Syntronix and then a DJ.

Perfect Lyrics

Our first dance was to ‘Just The Way You Are’ by Billy Joel. The words are perfect. Also I walked into the ceremony hall to Etta James ‘At Last’. What a beautiful song…. our two fave songs from the wedding.

Bottled Favours

For the men we bought miniature Jack Daniels bottles and for the ladies we bought mini glass perfume bottles, all tied with wooden heart name tags.

So Many Special Moments

We were surprised with a Vodka Luge which was fun for all. The food was amazing at the hotel – 1st class for the amount of people it catered for. The alcohol was flowing and the sun actually shone…It was beautiful.

There were so many special moments, it was all great, especially because we are now actually married. I think your wedding should definitely have a chilled morning with your family and friends.

My advice would be to take any support given, I was so lucky to have my family and fab friends.

Well I hoped you enjoyed that little visual treat. Some of those couple shots are totally breathtaking.

The genius that lies within the husband and wife team Owen and Charis at O&C photography has helped to make this one a day to remember for all involved.

Thank you to Natasha and David for sharing it with us.

  1. Love the Chanel theme how chic 🙂 beautiful bride and styling…I’ve never been sure on monochrome but this wedding looks very luxe x

  2. Those BM dresses are gorgeous! I don’t normally like a lot of black and white photography but these are really beautiful X

  3. I think the black and white shots work so well here because they actually accentuate the monochrome colour scheme, especially when you see them along side the colour shots.

    A genuinely super elegant wedding!

    Adam x

  4. Please help me – who does the bride look like?! She has a real look of a famous person and I cannot make my mind up as to who?!!!!

Total beaut of a wedding – I am in LOVE with those table place cards. I’ve just tried to explain them to the Big C over the phone: ”So, it’s a bit of card, with just ‘Coco’ written on it and then a squíggle? Crikey, Pam, I could do you that now here sat at my desk.” What am I marrying?!

And the shoes. Total sucker for black patent. Give me more.

  5. I love this wedding (my colour scheme is black and white with pearls so I’m biased!) Does anybody know where the napkin rings might be from? They would go perfect on our tables!

  6. Pamela – was just thinking the same. Wracking my brains!! Is it one of the Kardashians? Kourtney? Anyway, she’s totally gorgeous!

The bag? The shoes? Very lucky lady. Loving the luxe 🙂

  7. Thank you so much for the lovely comments guys and as always, Charlotte & Adam, YOU ROCK! We love being featured on your super-cool blog and appreciate how you put a blog together. Always makes us beam with pride! x x o&c
