Victoria & Paddy

I’ve really been looking forward to blogging this gorgeous wedding, as it’s from my neck of the woods, in deepest darkest Cornwall, and it’s ridiculously beautiful too. Victoria and Paddy chose Coombeshead Farm, a working farm with rooms and a reputation for incredible food, to host their wedding day. As well as keeping people fed well, the farm has an incredible tree copse under which Victoria & Paddy held their ceremony and lots of wonderful space for their bohemian marquee.

It’s always a treat to share weddings where the suppliers are members of our recommended supplier directory and as well as talented photographer Barney Walters, this wedding also showcases the work of wedding planner extraordinaire Jenny Wren and the lovely Garden Gate Flower Company girls whose home grown blooms always blow my mind.

Everything is so organically beautiful, you’re going to love it! Let’s begin with getting ready in that gorgeous farm house…

One-To-One With The Garden Gate Flower Company

Becca and Maz at The Garden Gate Flower Company grow all of their own flowers on their beautiful farm in Cornwall (if you’re looking for wedding flowers with a real difference – these are the girls for you) and are members of our Love Lust List. Yolanda is one of our favourite Spanish wedding and event stylists, and Marcos is one of our favourite destination wedding photographers – so when they all got together I just knew magic would happen.

Here’s a little glimpse into their one-to-one session. If you run a creative business I’d highly recommend doing something similar, whether it’s with florists, stylists, photographers, sharing creative vibes is a great way to progress. Oh and any Brides reading this – these suppliers come highly, highly recommended by me.

Nathalie & Mark

I’ve sung the praises of The Garden Gate Flower Company a few times before on RMW, but today I’m doing it again as Becca and Maz are just SO TALENTED. Their style is so unique and so obviously theirs too, I can pick their work a mile off now and once you’ve seen it, it’s hard to imagine flowers styled and arranged in any other way. The other thing about these ladies is that they GROW ALL OF THEIR flowers on their on farm. It’s a beautiful process which I think makes their work even more special. Although they are based in Cornwall, they love to travel far and wide for weddings so do get in touch if like me, you’re bewitched by their way with blooms.

We’ve saved this Spring wedding for today as this afternoon we’ll be bringing you a special Spring Flowers inspiration post from our Love Lust List florists (Becca and Maz included)! So sit back and enjoy todays seasonal feast for the eyes…who doesn’t love the promise of Spring?

Forage & Feast Course At Nancarrow Farm

Last October I attended the most fabulous and inspiring course hosted by two of our Love Lust List members, Nancarrow Farm and The Garden Gate Flower Company. A couple of weeks ago we shared the styled images from the course, but today I wanted to share some of the behind the scenes details. Whether you’re in the wedding industry already or you are a Bride who has perhaps caught the bug while planning your wedding, I can’t recommend actually getting out there and surrounding yourself with creatives highly enough. You always learn something new and meet a wonderful group of friends in the process. (And if you’re a Bride looking for a wedding supplier – ALL of the people involved below will be able to make your wedding dreams come true, they are such a talented bunch!)

British Grown Flowers For A Celebration Of Autumn At Nancarrow Farm

In October last year, I attended a course with several of our wonderful recommended suppliers that was centred around flowers and feasting, specifically making the most of British produce. Forage and Feast was hosted by the magical Nancarrow Farm, with stylish ladies The Garden Gate Flower Company guiding us through the florals (all grown at their family farm). We celebrated the bounty of the late summer food and floral harvest, decorated the incredible new ceremony space at Nancarrow, The Rusty Barn, and ate a rather large amount of delicious cake.

Here are the styled images from the course, if you’d like to see. Coming soon will be a behind the scenes, so you can get a real idea of what planning and styling a wedding at Nancarrow would be like and see how The Garden Gate Flower Company work. Gorgeous images come from the lovely Ross Talling, whose atmospheric, unobtrusive style we love and the dreamy, swoon inducing super 8 film comes from equally lovely Caroline and Chris at Baxter and Ted.

Natalie & Anthony

This afternoon’s wedding is from the gorgeous Boconnoc Estate in Cornwall, with flowers by the wonderful and completely lovely Garden Gate Flower Company. Becca and Maz grow all of their flowers on their farm in Cornwall and so their work has an organic, natural feel that can’t help but be seasonal in colour and structure. If you’re looking for completely British grown blooms arranged with real flair, then they really are the girls for you.

The images come from Amy Shore, whose atmospheric, journalistic style we love at RMW. If you’re new to the wedding planning world, we’re here to show you that every aspect of your day can be exactly as you want it – photography included. If you favour relaxed, natural images, then you’ll love the weddings we feature. And this one is particularly gorgeous, just wait until you see the reception decor…

Anna & Tim

The flowers in this mornings wedding are simply beautiful. The Garden Gate Flower Company grow all of their blooms organically on a Cornish farm and arrange them in such a creative yet organic way, that they will have your heart skipping a beat. The spring blossom chandelier is one of the prettiest floral arrangements I’ve ever seen.

In fact, this whole wedding is just brimming with artistic touches and so it comes as no surprise that the Bride, Anna, is a stationer, who has produced work for M&S and Paperchase. So naturally, she created the stationery for her own wedding, using a palette of charcoal grey, white and a subtle pinky peach.

Anyone who reads the blog regularly will know I’m a big fan of a rustic marquee wedding, and I just love how stylish this one is – the tables and chairs from Virginia’s Vintage Hire really help to make the tent look inviting, and the relaxed way of serving food just makes it into a big party. Oh, and anyone worrying about the weather for their big day should remember that Anna and Tim took to choppy waters to get to their wedding reception – a little bit of rain didn’t stop them 😉
