A wedding dress, usually a one-wear-only item, is one of the most unsustainable pieces you can ever purchase. Brides spend thousands on a designer dress for their big day that will only be worn once meaning that renting is a great sustainable option. There are also huge cost-saving benefits with rental. At Something Borrowed we rent dresses for up to 50% less than their RRP (we’ll price match if we don’t). Every time you rent, you participate in a shared clothing economy and support a more sustainable approach to Weddings.

Something Borrowed offers a home try-on service for a small fee. You can pick up to 3 dresses to try in the comfort of your own home. We want to make sure that your chosen style and fit is right for you.

We allow reversible alterations on some items at an additional cost but this is handled on a case-by-case basis. We advise against this to ensure your items can be borrowed more frequently in the future. You must discuss and agree this with us at time of rental agreement. This would mean temporary stitching to shorten the gown, bring the dress in or let the dress out. Please contact us for more information.

We ship 2 to 3 days before your wedding with full tracking, and we monitor every order. In the rare event something goes wrong, we're on hand immediately. Unlike a peer-to-peer platform, you're dealing with us directly.

Every item is professionally cleaned and quality-checked before it reaches you. We're not a peer-to-peer platform - we own and care for every piece in our collection.

Yes, cancellations are free of charge. A 50% fee applies only for cancellations within one month of the booking date.

We're reasonable - minor wear is expected. For anything beyond that, we charge repair costs or the item value, and we'll always be transparent about what that looks like upfront.
