Vintage Bridal Millinery

Today we’re sharing the gorgeous vintage inspired collection from Vintage Bridal Millinery, whose pieces are simply gorgeous and very unique. If you’re looking for a hair accessory that’s a little different to the swathe of floral crowns and sparkly headpieces we so frequently feature, then these might just be for you…

It’s a dream team collaboration too, with dresses from the lovely Hayley at Rolling In Roses, who you’ll find on our Look Book pages and Ryan from Shutter Go Click – these three businesses work amazingly well together and seem to have a shared understanding of making vintage feel contemporary for stylish brides. Which is no mean feat 😉

Fran and Katie are stylish, lovely and talented in equal measures and their offering is something completely fresh to the world of Bridesmaids dresses. The Rewritten collection contains six signature styles (think clean, simple silhouettes) in an edit of the most gorgeous, current shades.

Today we’re really excited to be sharing the most recent colours to join the collection – Oyster, a soft pinky purple shade with the most beautiful pearly sheen, and Marine, a minty green with a tiny hint of tropical blue.

Halfpenny London AW17 {Standing On Stardust}

Halfpenny London gowns are always ahead of the fashion curve. When received these images in October last year, we were seriously excited to share them with you all, but we had to keep our lips sealed until now. Previewed at last years New York Bridal Market, as part of Halfpenny London’s first stand alone showcase, they’ve been making waves across the global wedding industry ever since. But then as far as we’re concerned Kate’s dresses always do, we’re proud to have Halfpenny London in our Look Book, where you’ll find bridal collections from some of our absolute favourite designers.

The Standing On Stardust collection is inspired by the hedonistic club scene of 1970s New York (we know, how achingly cool)?! These gowns are bold with intricate beading, powerful silhouettes, feathers, a gorgeous blend of fabrics and textures, think sumptuous silks, satins, organzas. Sheer vs heavy, creating a perfect balance. If you follow Kate Halfpenny on Instagram, the first thing that comes across, apart from great style, is her love for fabrics and textures. It’s instinctive to her, which is why her designs are so recognisable.

A Visit To The Halfpenny London Boutique

Kate Halfpenny is truly one of a kind in the wedding industry – her designs are instantly recognisable, her collections always evolve and yet stay true to her classic style and all of her dresses are made in the UK. Kate designs dresses for real women that are made to be worn, and if you’ve ever tried on wedding dresses you’ll understand that unfortunately that’s not always the case.

Some of the Rock My Wedding team visited Kate’s gorgeous Bloomsbury boutique recently for a lovely chinwag and a good old nosey at the stunning dresses. I was green with envy that I couldn’t attend as it looks like an absolute treasure trove of Bridal prettiness. We’ve got lots of images, if you fancy having a look…

New Bridal Collection By Charlotte Simpson

Charlotte Simpson is truly unique in the world of bridal, her dresses are just so clean, elegant and sophisticated and we love her minimal styling. Those of you who follow RMW religiously will recall we featured Charlotte’s French chateau wedding recently and as you can imagine, it was simply beautiful. Charlotte designed and made her own wedding dresses, so along with details of her gorgeous new collection, I thought it would be really interesting to interview her – finding out about the creative process of making your own dress and also whether it has changed the way she now works.

It was a pleasure to learn more about Charlotte and her work, so I hope you find this a throughly interesting read! And if you’d like to see more from Charlotte and our other favourite designers, then don’t forget to visit our Look Book.

The 2017 Collection From Halfpenny London

The lovely Kate Halfpenny never fails to totally floor us with her designs. Kate has the ability to create new and original dresses with each collection, while remaining true to her style, but still encapsulating current trends AND vintage inspiration. It really is quite something! When I look at one of Kate’s dresses I can see influences from fashion greats, but there’s no denying that it’s a Halfpenny London gown.
