Mark Horton stole the show, everyone loved him, he even drove some of my bridesmaids to our wedding and snapped the dog trying to steal the wedding cake. After a last-minute issue with our celebrant, our friend, Chris Wood, stepped in and wrote us the most beautiful, personal ceremony. We also love White Syke Fields, the ladies were incredible and organised our chaos.
Alice & Marcus
The vibe for this wedding was modern, glam, disco, and carnival. Alice had been loving the modern bride trend and brides that didn't conform to tradition. Colour was important to the couple and they had seen streamer decorations used at events. They knew the impact the decor would have on such a large space could be incredible, which it definitely was! Everything about this wedding was DIY, including the streamers, table settings, and ceremony backdrop. Alice hand-dyed the table runners, too! The pink, red and silver streamers took them around 50+ hours altogether!! But really bought their vision to life, while sticking to their budget.
Alice & Marcus wanted their wedding to be a party more than anything. The couple wanted to surprise people with their bold and colourful streamer decorations. Their day was completely unique to them with a fun modern disco vibe. The couple had a whole Mexican vegan feast and also chose a reading from Dolly Alderton’s ‘Everything I Know About Love’, featured on readings from books! Most of the suppliers for the special day were local or friends to Alice & Marcus in some way, which made the day feel so heartfelt with lots of personal touches.
Our advice would be to not think you can plan a wedding in 9 months and DIY everything yourself! Give yourself more time, please, haha! Also, little details matter less than you think. Invest in your photographer, it will be the only thing you have left after the wedding and photos last forever. Choose them carefully and don't scrimp, you won't regret it. It's also ok to say no if you don't feel like something is working.
