No, unfortunately, at the moment your wedding with a Celebrant is not a legally binding ceremony. If you would still like a legal ceremony as well as a ceremony with your Celebrant, it is suggested that you legally register your marriage at your local Register office, preferably before your ceremony with the celebrant.

The idea of designing your own wedding without restrictions is becoming more and more popular. You will have an initial meeting with a Celebrant of your choice, at this stage you will both establish whether you are a good match. Once this has been decided, you can start the planning for your big day.

Part of my role as your Celebrant is getting to know you; discovering how you got to where you are today, and how it all began. I will tell your story so that all of your friends and family will understand why you are both stood there pledging your love to each other in front of them all.

Yes, of course. The idea of being in love with someone that you have decided to spend the rest of your life with, and have taken that big step to declare your promise and commitment in front of your friends and family, should not be defined by gender. Same sex ceremonies are given as much love and attention as any other ceremony.

Ceremonies generally take between 20-30 mins, but this will also depend on the elements (if any) that you choose to use and the number of readings and participants that are involved. I will guide you to ensure that we keep to a reasonable time, so that you can get wed and go off and enjoy your party!
